Music & Technology Special Interest Group

The purpose of this SIG will be to share and disseminate research and best practices in creating, performing, listening to, understanding, and responding to music with the assistance of technological tools. The primary focus of the group will be on the pedagogical applications of technology for music teaching and learning. In addition, the use of technologies to integrate music in to other disciplines will also be addressed.

NECC 2009

The SIG met at the 2009 NECC Conference during a Music and Technology gathering. The featured speaker during the SIG meeting was Dr. James Frankel. Dr. Frankel spoke about the latest trends in music technology and how they specifically relate to classroom instruction.

In addition, during the SIG's business meeting, a list of future directions for the SIG was developed. Please join the wiki and contribute your ideas!
